Mr. Moorthy brings to Advantage Alpha more than 20 years of small cap and private equity investing experience. Prior to founding Advantage Alpha, Mr. Moorthy was a Partner and co-founder of Pivot Point Capital, a small cap focused hedge fund for 14 years. Prior to Pivot Point Capital, Mr. Moorthy worked at the Audax Group, a $10 billion middle market private equity firm where he identified and executed operationally focused leverage buyouts. Previously, Mr. Moorthy worked at Advanta Partners executing growth and buyout investments in the information and business services industries. Mr. Moorthy also co-founded and served as CFO of a European technology-based start-up. Mr. Moorthy began his career in the M&A group of Credit Suisse First Boston.

Tony Brenner

Mr. Brenner brings to Advantage Alpha experience and expertise derived from more than 35 years of making venture capital, private equity and small cap public investments. Prior to co-founding Advantage Alpha, Mr. Brenner founded and served as Managing Partner of Pivot Point Capital, a successful long only hedge fund for 14 years. Mr. Brenner spent nearly five years as a Managing Director at Crosslink Capital leading all venture capital investment activity for the firm in the services sector. Prior to joining Crosslink Capital, Mr. Brenner founded two successful investment firms, Advanta Partners and Cedar Point Partners. Both firms focused on growth investments and leveraged buyouts across a variety of sectors. He was the third investment professional recruited to Centre Partners, the private equity affiliate of Lazard Freres. Immediately following business school, Mr. Brenner worked as a small cap analyst at Andron Cechettini & Associates. He has been a member of YPO for over 30 years.

Namir Chowdhury

Mr. Chowdhury brings to Advantage Alpha extensive experience in identifying high-quality, publicly-traded businesses and undertaking rigorous due-diligence on potential investments. Prior to joining Advantage Alpha in October 2020, Mr. Chowdhury founded Inalogix Research, providing independent and in-depth equity research and data analytics services to investment firms. From 2018 to 2019, Mr. Chowdhury was a member of the Public Equity Investment team at Shanda Asset Management, a family office with wholly-owned permanent capital. Prior to Shanda, Mr. Chowdhury spent five years at Pivot Point Capital, a long-only hedge fund, where he made long-term investments in high-quality, U.S.-based, small-cap stocks. He started his career at UBS Investment Bank, where he worked on over $10 billion of M&A and financing transactions in the real estate and industrial sectors.

Mr. Joseph brings to Advantage Alpha over eight years of private equity and small cap investing experience. Prior to joining Advantage Alpha, Mr. Joseph worked at Inalogix Research, providing independent and in-depth equity research and data analytics services to investment firms. Prior to Inalogix, Mr. Joseph worked at Paragon Outcomes Management, a SEC registered private investment firm focused on real estate, specialty finance, and real asset investing. Previously, Mr. Joseph worked at UBS Investment Bank, where he worked on over $1 billion of M&A and financing transactions in the industrials sector.

Chetan Mehta

Mr. Mehta leads quantitative research and trading at Advantage Alpha. Prior to joining Advantage Alpha, Mr. Mehta worked at Pivot Point Capital where he helped develop and execute the equity market neutral strategy that was to become Advantage Alpha. Prior to Pivot Point, Mr. Mehta worked on the Structuring Desk at Morgan Stanley (London) and ICICI Bank (India) where he consulted extensively with clients to help them manage their foreign exchange and interest rate risk using customized derivative-based hedging solutions. Mr. Mehta also worked in the Risk Management Group of ICICI Bank developing quantitative credit rating models for Sovereigns and Financial Institutions.

Bill Nolan
Partner & Head of Business Development
Mr. Nolan leads marketing, business development and investor relations efforts for Advantage Alpha. He has spent over two decades in leadership roles in the alternative investment industry, most recently as head of Business Development for Light Street Capital, a $1.5 billion equity long short manager focused on technology investing, from 2016 to 2018. Prior to Light Street, he spent eight years at Passport Capital, a $5 billion global equity long short manager, as Global Head of Marketing and Investor Relations. Before Passport, he led Marketing, Business Development and Investor Relations at Crosslink Capital, a $2 billion venture capital and public growth equity investment firm. Mr. Nolan began his investment career in the Private Client Group at Legg Mason in Baltimore, and subsequently joined the Private Client Group at Robertson Stephens in San Francisco. He is an active volunteer and leader for HandsOn Bay Area and the Climate Reality Project.

Joseph Welsh

Mr. Welsh brings to Advantage Alpha over twenty years of experience in hedge fund operations and compliance. Prior to joining Advantage Alpha in May 2021, Mr. Welsh spent six years at Pivot Point Capital, a long-only hedge fund, where he was Chief Administrative Officer and CCO. Prior to Pivot Point, Mr. Welsh spent six years as the CFO and CCO at Alesco Global Advisors (Alesco), a real estate-focused Adviser offering hedge funds, mutual funds and private partnerships, which was acquired by Grubb & Ellis and subsequently bought by Lazard Asset Management. Prior to Alesco, Mr. Welsh spent seven years with Presidio Management, a small-cap Adviser with long/short hedge funds, where he served as their CFO and CCO.
